Why this blog?

A few years ago I decided to let fear go, to chase my dreams and to form my own creative journey.

While I have been painting professionally for over 10 years – the idea that becoming a “professional” artist meant that I had to sell in art galleries, belong many art associations, and paint what only sold as to not “waste” money on supplies.

This formula did work from an outsider’s point of view but what was happening inside of me was entirely different. I did not feel like I was accomplishing anything, I felt disconnected to my art and was always trying to explain myself.

In early 2015, I decided to say fuck it and try to branch off on my own.  My goal was to fill my own bucket with soulFULL moments, work and experiences. I found like-minded people that lifted and inspired each other, got my website running properly to sell my work online and share my journey on social media, to engage with a bigger market and perhaps even broaden my collector base.

I also had to re-introduce myself to my magic… that amazing little voice that helps me create. I needed to figure out how to reconnect with my artistic practice (I use the word practice because I will NEVER stop learning)

I realized how important my yoga and meditation –practices- were to my daily life and wanted to incorporate some of the rituals and concepts in to my art. I designed a deck of cards (Creative Intention Prompts) that were similar to the angle cards that I use in my spiritual practice but for my art studio. These cards changed so much for me, they allowed me, without judgment, to play and create freely.

My artwork changed + I changed = both in a way that I cannot explain. I am more connected to my artwork and myself then I ever have.

This blog is about sharing that adventure moving forward… I hope it inspires other makers/artists/creative to LET IT GO, to play and to LOVE & LIVE their creative stories fully.

Please continue to check in and share your stories with me. XO
